Camp Connection 2009/2010  (NSW) - Project Officer Position

Overall Description of role:

Camp Connection is a proactive and interactive camping experience for adoptees and their families aimed at helping them discuss common adoption issues.  It is a two-day annual weekend camp for children adopted from other cultures and their families and has been successfully running since 2003. Intercountry adoptees often live in a highly visible family and may feel isolated and different from other children. Parents of intercountry adoptees want to support their adopted children as they seek to resolve issues of racial, cultural and personal identity.

Camp Connection provides an opportunity for adoptees and their families to establish and rekindle friendships, seek support and develop networks that are empowering and that provide a foundation for ongoing connections beyond the camp.
